Pricing

What you pay us, and what you pay other providers, kept separate.

Price
  • Building a website: $10 (one-time)
  • Building a game: $10–$100 (one-time)
  • Building a tool or service: $10–$50 (one-time)
  • Keeping it running: $10 (per month)
  • Adding something later: $10–$50 (per item)

Talking costs nothing. You pay for the build after you have checked the finished work.

Our Japanese pages list a lower price for this service. Working in English takes us longer, and the price reflects that. Everything else is identical. See Pricing.

Costs beyond the price

Third-party services cost extra: hosting, domain, email delivery, payments, AI usage, app store annual fees. These are contracted in your name and paid directly to each provider. Nothing routes through us, so there is no markup.

Approximate figures: for a small site, hosting runs to about ¥0 to ¥1,000 a month and a domain to about ¥1,500 a year. Logins, outgoing email and AI usage push that up. For a phone app the stores charge on top of that: $99 a year for the App Store and $25 once for Google Play. We give you the monthly figure before you sign anything.

Bank transfer fees, currency conversion charges, and your own connection costs are yours.

Payment method

Credit card (Stripe)

When payment is due

Build: after you have checked the finished work, and before we launch it and hand over the deliverables.

Maintenance: monthly from the month after launch, charged automatically on the same day of the month as the launch date.

Additions: after you have checked the part that was added.

Hosting is paid by you. It is not covered by the $10 a month you pay us. Hosting and the domain are contracted in your name, so the site keeps running after our agreement ends.

Delivery

We start once the scope and the cost are settled. We do not wait for payment.

When the work is delivered

We start building once the scope and the cost are settled. Figure on a few hours and up for an internal tool, three days and up for a one-page site, one to two weeks for something with features. We tell you the start date while we are still talking.

Maintenance begins the month after launch.

For a phone app, the store's review takes a few days to a week. That time is not included in the figures above.

We run a limited number of projects at a time, so when we are full you wait for a slot. If you are in another time zone, allow about a day of lag on each exchange.

What you receive

Once payment clears, you get the full source code and the hosting and domain account details. Change it yourself or hand it to another firm.

Supported environment

Current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Earlier versions and Internet Explorer are not supported.

Cancellation and refunds

No penalty. One email ends it.

Canceling maintenance

Email us by the day before the next charge date and we stop it. There is no penalty and no minimum term.

The site stays up afterwards. Hosting and the domain are in your name, so it keeps running. We no longer change text or fix faults on it.

Refunds and cancellation

Because the build is paid for after you have checked the finished work, no refund arises. You can decline at the point you check it. Maintenance stops if you tell us by the day before the next charge date. We do not refund part-months.

If we end it

We end maintenance, with one month's notice, in any of these cases.

  • Payment is two or more months overdue
  • Content is published that breaks the law
  • Requests well beyond the agreed scope keep coming

Even then, the source code and account details stay with you. The site keeps running.

Work we turn down

We do not take on anything holding card numbers or large volumes of personal data, large-scale services, anything needing 24-hour incident response, or anything in medicine, finance or law where licensing or strict review applies. We tell you while we are still talking.

See what we take on for the detail.
